About John Roos

The most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything else is secondary. I have a wide range of interests. I love music, particularly classical and jazz. While owning several thousand CDs, I also still have about a thousand LPs. But, like so many people, most of recordings these days are downloaded. I play a number of musical instruments, but these days my playing is limited to the trombone (although I hope to get back into writing music more in the future). I love to write non-fiction, but also write poetry. My life was shaped by studying various writers and philosophers, including Ludwig Wittgenstein, Alfred North Whitehead, Soren Kierkegaard, and Joseph Conrad. But I also am a student of the Bible. One of my life goals is to write a Bible commentary, which I have been working on for more than thirty years. I plan to post selective excerpts from these writings here on my blog.

I have a master’s degree in international studies, and am a passionate reader of histories and biographies.
